Questions and Replies
The right of Members to put questions to Ministers is an important part of ensuring the executive authority’s accountability to the Provincial Parliament. Questions may be put to Ministers related to their spheres of responsibility. Replies to questions are either given orally in the House or in writing. The replies to oral questions are recorded in Hansard.

On 10 May 2022 the Equal Education Law Centre presented information to the Standing Committee on Education regarding challenges related to learner admissions in the Western Cape. During this session, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) committed to providing updates to the Standing Committee on Education on the progress of the online appeal process pilot project by the end of the last quarter of 2022: (1) What is the comprehensive update on the pilot project; (2) whether the pilot project has been initiated; if not, (a) why not and (b) what is the reason for the delay; if so, what is the current status? |
