During the 2019/ 20 financial year my department strengthened relations with Municipal LED components and facilitated the training in the Municipalities that were receptive to the Department’s training proposal.

During this period my department, with the participation of its afore-mentioned alliance partners, trained over one hundred persons with an 80 /20 gender split of Women and Men. Preference is given to persons younger than 35 years of age (Youth) to participate in the training initiative.

My department has resumed the Emerging Contractor training since the inception of the COVID -19 lockdown level 2 and targets to train a further total of fifty persons in the Garden Route District before the end of September 2020. The Construction Technical training is the foundation training for Emerging Contractors and the Department anticipates facilitating ‘Finance for non-Financial Managers’ and ‘Project Management’ training for all persons who successfully completed the Construction Technical Training
