With reference to the municipalities of Laingsburg, Prince Albert and Beaufort West, and the Central Karoo District Municipality:
- What was the total amount spent on PPE supplies and COVID-19-related expenditure per municipality, (b) which companies provided the PPE supplies, (c) what rand value was awarded to each company for this expenditure, (d) how were they identified, (e) do they form part of the official supply-chain database and (f) in what ways did residents benefit from the procured PPE by these municipalities?
(a) The total amount spent on PPE supplies and COVID 19-related expenditure by the Laingsburg Municipality was R 854,897.04.

(d) Suppliers were identified through the lists provided by the National and Provincial Treasury.
(e) Yes, all identified suppliers are registered on the official Supply Chain Management’s Central Supplier Database (CSD)
(f) The residents did not benefit from this directly, however funding was used to supply essential workers in the Municipality with PPE.

6. (a) The total amount spent on PPE supplies and COVID 19-related expenditure by the Prince Albert Municipality was R1 002 482.92.

(d) Service providers from the Beaufort West Municipality Suppliers Database which are also registered on the Central Supplier Database were requested to provide the Municipality with quotations for COVID19 related material. The Municipality used a deviation for procurement in certain instances where the Municipality could not advertise for procurement above R30 000 on Council's website and notice boards for 7 days during the lockdown period.

- The community benefited from the procured PPE in that the safety of Municipal staff was prioritised, in order to protect them, their families and community at large. The contact points within the Municipality, such as cash offices, were also kept sanitised in order to protect the community.
Local Small Business' benefited from these procurement processes and these included PG Glass, Nieuveld Pharmacy, Proudly Karoo, Klink Supplies, RWS Cleaning Services and MLB Solutions.

(f) Local vendors were used when they were able to provide the best quotation to the Municipality.
