With regard to allegations that a councillor at the Swellendam Municipality, whose name has been furnished to his Department for the purpose of his reply, who serves on the Executive Mayoral Committee, is running a private business without having completed a declaration of financial interest:
Whether his Department has conducted an investigation into these allegations; if not, why not; if so, what (a) are the relevant details and (b) remedial action has been taken?

According to Swellendam Municipality, Councillor Du Randt had submitted a declaration of interest form on 24 August 2016, which declared his interest with reference to the private business. Therefore, no investigation is required pertaining to this allegation.
