Whether any incidents where a mayor, deputy mayor or speaker of any of the 30 municipalities in the province has falsely claimed to hold qualifications that they did not hold have been bought to his attention; if so, (a) what are the relevant details, (b) when was this bought to his attention and (c) what steps has he taken?

Yes, there has been an incident brought to my attention where it is alleged that an Executive Mayor has falsely claimed to hold qualifications. The matter is currently being dealt with internally by the applicable political party of the Executive Mayor and does not require any actions from myself in my capacity as MEC for local Government.
