With regards to the to the infrastructure expenditure plans outlined in his 2021 budget speech:
- Whether he can provide the (a) details, and (b) total expenditure breakdown and
(c) location of all the infrastructure projects that have been budgeted for in the 2021 budget; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
- Whether his Department will put strict measures in place for the provincial government to adhere to BBBEE requirements in these planned infrastructure development projects; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- (a), (b) and (c) – This information is detailed in the Overview of Provincial and Municipal Infrastructure investment 2021, especially in Chapter 1 (Overview), Chapter 2 (Infrastructure Portfolio Management and Delivery) and Annexures A and B.
- B-BBEE compliance is intrinsic to the procurement system of all procuring entities within the Western Cape Government. For details please refer the response provided to question 5 of Question Paper 8, 2021.
