With regard to learners who were unplaced in schools in the province on 19 January 2022, 1 February 2022 and 14 February 2022:
- What is the racial breakdown of the unplaced learners, (b) how many of these unplaced learners have been placed at schools as at the latest date for which information is available, (c) what are the details of the schools at which all these learners have been placed and (d) what is the (i) number and (ii) details of schools with class sizes (aa) below 30 and (bb) above 45 in the province?
11. The WCED system is a live/real-time system. The data is not stored daily as it changes constantly. Data was extracted for reports only on the following dates: 30 Jan 2022 and 13 February 2022.

- Of those listed above, 204 Grade 1 learners and 1 203 Grade 8 learners have been placed since 30 January 2022.
As of 23 February 2022, 152 Grade 1 learners and 352 Grade 8 learners still require placement.
The WCED received over 6 000 applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 in December and January alone.
In total, over 70 000 late applications were received after the enrolment period ended.
