Whether her Department have any guidelines for schools to generate funds; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
The Department issued a financial manual to schools in 2000 with a revised edition in 2006 wherein there is a specific chapter on how schools can generate additional income. The following aspects are covered in the manual:
- Steps to a successful fund-raising event
- Managing a tuck shop at school
- Rental income – rent out a hall, hostel or classroom to the community
- Receipt and management of income from bequests
