- Yes, the political instability over the past two years has had financial impact on the Oudtshoorn Municipality as the municipality is currently failing to meet some of its short-term obligations.
- The information in terms of section 71 of the Municipal Finance Management Act also showed that as at 30 June 2015 the municipality did not have enough cash and investments, posing cost coverage and liquidity risk for the municipality.
- The independent forensic investigation currently underway will determine whether any senior official has been involved in any unauthorised financial decisions.
