What are the details of the funding that has been given to the aquaculture industry in (a) 2019, (b) 2020, (c) 2021 and (d) 2022 to date, including (i) a detailed list of all the beneficiaries per year, (ii) the names and (iii) the race of the owners of the companies that received funding?
[1] Based on the final approval by the National Assessment Panel [NAP], the following projects were funded between 2019 to 2022. For the year 2019/20 a total of R8,022m for 7 projects: [1] Simunye Mussels; [2] Ulwazi Kukutya; [3] Xesibe Aquaculture Projects; [4] Mike Growers; [5] MMM Agriconsult; [6] Pluto Mussels and Trading and [7] Madima General Agricultural Trading. For the 2020/21 year a total of R2m for 3 projects: [1] Blue Lagoon; [2] KAI Forelle and [3] Saldanha Aquaculture Services. In 2021/22 the amount of R8m to fund 5 projects [1] K2019005713; [2] K2019005175; [3] Well Done Works; [4] CEX Enterprises and [5] Wada Projects. For the financial year 2022/23 the Department will fund one project to the value of R300 000: [1] Aquatropica FS1 [Also see Annex 3 for details].
