In the 2022/23 Annual Performance Plan of the Department of Human Settlements it is stated that the Department will consider public–private partnerships to help with the provision of housing opportunities:
(1) How many public-private partnership have been (a) identified and (b) concluded for the provision of housing opportunities in the Western Cape in this financial year;
(2) what are the details of each partnership;
(3) if none have been identified and concluded, why not?
[1][2] My Department has not identified or concluded any public-private partnerships as indicated in Part C [12] of the 2022/23 Annual Performance Plan [page 75].
[3] My Department acknowledges the importance of public and private partnerships and is currently reassessing partnership agreements and processes to ensure that they are mutually beneficial and aligned to the Department’s strategic goals. My Department will also pursue other partnership initiatives in collaboration with the banking sector and private developers.
