What is the breakdown of jobs in tourism according to (a) type of jobs, (b) percentage of (i) permanent (ii) casual or seasonal and (iii) contract appointments and (c) the profile of beneficiaries in terms of (i) residents of the province, (ii) residents of other provinces and (iii) foreigners?

The table above shows 40 % of the jobs are in Transport, 17% in accommodation, 20% in Food and beverage and 18 % in Retail.

Enclosed, please find a spreadsheet providing the split of direct employment across sectors that would give an indication of the type of job. The tourism sector in the Western Cape supported 206 082 jobs in 2016.

We are not aware of any data from Stats SA or SA Tourism that provides data for the other parts of the question.
