  1. All municipalities have updated and accurate asset registers in place which are linked to their respective financial systems. The annual audit by the Auditor General and clean audit reports of the municipalities attest this finding.

  • The verification and condition assessment of underground services remains a challenge but will be mitigated with the introduction of a Municipal Regulations on a Standard Chart of Accounts (MSCOA) and Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) compliant asset management tool which will be linked to the Municipal Geographic Information System (GIS)

 

Overstrand Municipality in the Western Cape is one of six pilot projects in the Country where the system development is currently being tested by National Treasury.
