Whether he is aware of any moves by the City of Cape Town to create a Deputy City Manager post; if so, (a) how is such a position justified given that the new Mayor introduced an two new additional multimillion-rand Executive Director posts less than 12 months ago, meaning that the demands on the City Manager are now far more diluted than they were a year ago and (b) what is the salary range?
Answer Body:
According to the City of Cape Town, it is untrue that they are creating a post of Deputy City Manager. This is false information that has been published in the media and circulated on social media. As the question has been refuted, it is therefore not necessary in the circumstances to respond to questions 6 (a) and (b).
