1). The contract term in respect of Mr T Mguli should have come to an end on 15 September 2019. However, it was not envisaged that the recruitment process, following the advertising of the post of Head of Department, would be completed before the end of September 2019, accordingly approval was granted to extend the contract of Mr Mguli until 31 December 2019, when the contract will come to an end.
2). The recruitment and selection process for the post of Head of Department of Human Settlements has indeed been concluded.The nomination of Ms Jacqueline Sampson was endorsed by Cabinet. She has accepted the offer of employment and will assume the responsibilities of Head of Department from 1 January 2020.
3). The senior management echelon is currently a focal point of attention of the provincial government in order to ensure that this cadre ecomes representative of the economic active population of the Western Cape. The current, overall comparison is as follows:
