  •  

The emergency housing building materials provided to the Bitou Municipality;

Developments that led to the abandonment of the materials;

The outcome of the discussion held by the three spheres of government on funding for the acquisition of  emergency  housing building materials intended to create temporary relocation for 71 households; and

The proposed way forward.

10:30 – 12:30     Briefing by the Knysna Municipality and the Department of Human Settlements on the:

           

  • Manner in which alternate building measures up with conventional building methods in terms of:
  • Job creation;
  • Construction time; and
  • The differences between conventional and alternate building methods.
  • Challenges associated with transitioning from traditional building methods to alternate building methods; and
  • The life span of the alternate building methods as opposed to traditional building methods.
