Routine health services will continue as normal.
In preparation we are planning for staff leave to be staggered to ensure sufficient staff being available and redistribute staff to assist in emergency centres and deploy response vehicles. Our EMS crews, in collaboration with the ambulance communication center, will be placed at strategic points and join other traffic roleplayers to promote road safety on the days where traffic is expected to reach its peak. Ambulances and rescue vehicles will be strategically placed along major highways that are notorious for major accidents.
EMS will also work in collaboration with NSRI and Lifeguards SA on beach-going days like the 16th, 26 December, and New Year’s Day. Operational managers will be roving during this period to ensure that any incidences get dealt with speedily and that the extra resource is available to respond to priority calls if needed.
