Multi-sectoral child protection and safety dialogue
On Friday 27 June and Monday 30 June 2025, the Standing Committee on Social Development hosted multi-sectoral child protection and safety dialogues.
During the two days of dialogue, key voices from law enforcement, justice, academia, child welfare and civil society came together to have a multi-sectoral discussion on child protection and security. “We owe it to every vulnerable child to do more than just speak. Every child deserves to be safe, seen and protected,” emphasised Kaizer-Philander.

Official Opening and Premier's Opening Address held in Cape Town
The official opening ceremony of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP) took place this morning. Premier Alan Winde delivered his 2024 Opening Address (POA) during the sitting.
Elected Presiding Officers
Elected as Presiding Officers of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament at the first sitting of the 7th Parliament on 13 June, Speaker Daylin Mitchell and Deputy Speaker Reagen Allen.
Media accreditation for SOPA
The Official Opening of the sixth session of the Sixth Parliament of the Western Cape, and the Premier’s State of the Province Address (SOPA), will take place at 18:00 on Monday, 19 February 2024, at the Huguenot Community Hall, 2A Abattoir Street, Klippiesdal, Paarl.
