ACSA to brief standing committee on environmental protection plan and air traffic operational improvements

Following the increase in arrivals at Cape Town International Airport, the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) will brief the portfolio committee on Environmental Affairs and Development Planning on the monitoring and reporting of the environmental impacts of air travel.

 

ACSA will specifically address carbon emissions and impacts of air quality on the surrounding communities.

 

Public hearings on the Western Cape Health Facility Boards and Committees Bill [B 1-2016]

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Standing Committee on Community Development invites stakeholders and interested parties to attend public hearings on the Western Cape Health Facility Boards and Committees Bill [B 1–2016].

 

The purpose of the bill is to provide for the establishment, functions and procedures of boards established for hospitals and committees established for primary healthcare facilities; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

Last public hearing on Expropriation Bill to take place in Caledon

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Standing Committee on Transport and Public Works will conduct its final public hearing on the Expropriation Bill on Thursday, 21 April at 17:00 at the Victoria Hall, Caledon. While the deadline for written submissions was today at 12:00, the public will have a final opportunity for oral submissions at this public hearing.

 

Request for presentations on corporate social investment in Western Cape sport

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Standing Committee on Cultural Affairs and Sport invites interested corporates to briefly present their funding mechanisms for sport in the Western Cape. The purpose of the presentations is so that the committee may gain a better understanding of the successes and challenges that corporates face with regard to funding athletes/NGOs/federations/sports clubs. The committee also wishes to understand the processes that athletes NGOs/federations/sports clubs need to follow when applying for corporate funding.

Western Cape Appropriation Bill 2016

After the provincial budget was tabled in the provincial parliament by Finance Minister Ivan Meyer on 3 March, the budgetary process continues with meetings of the various standing committees to consider the different budgets votes of the portfolios in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill [B2-2016]. These committee meetings are scheduled from 7 to 16 March.
