The right of Members to put questions to Ministers is an important part of ensuring the executive authority’s accountability to the Provincial Parliament. Questions may be put to Ministers related to their spheres of responsibility. Replies to questions are either given orally in the House or in writing.   1. Whether his Department has started work on a targeted strategy for and approach to the informal economy; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
  1. (a) what is his Department’s definition of (i) informal economy and (ii) SMME and (b) which sectors of the Western economy are regarded as falling in either of the two;

In relation to the funding of special needs schools:

  1. (a) What were the budget allocation to these schools in the (i) 2017/18, (ii) 2018/19, (iii) 2019/20, (iv) 2020/21 and (v) 2021/22 financial years, (b) on average, how much more funding is required per learner in comparison to those who attend conventional public schools;
  1. (a) whether these schools are factored in the provincial equitable share formula; if not, what has her Department done to lobby the National Treasury to accommodate this funding?

(a) How many positive cases have there been in (i) 2017/18, (ii) 2018/19, (iii) 2019/20, (iv) 2020/21 and (v) 2021/22, (b) how many clients have successfully recovered from TB, (c) how many TB-related deaths have there been in (i) 2017/18, (ii) 2018/19, (iii) 2019/20, (iv) 2020/21 and (v) 2021/22 and (d) what (i) campaigns and (ii) initiatives are confirmed for this year in order to improve awareness in this regard?

(1) What monetary investments have gone into the development and upgrading of the online registration system over the past five financial years;

(2) in relation to its operational capacity, (a) how many applicants can the website accommodate at any given time and (b) how has this improved over the past five calendar years;

(3) how many people have applied online in the calendar years of (a) 2017, (b) 2018, (c) 2019, (d) 2020, (e) 2021, and (f) 2022 to date;

(4) what plans are in place to make the online registration more accessible to applicants without sufficient resources?
