Western Cape Cultural Commission
The Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Standing Committee on Cultural Affairs and Sport invites the general public to nominate suitable persons for vacancies at the Western Cape Cultural Commission. Appointed nominees will serve the remainder of the three-year term of office. The aim of the commission is to preserve, promote and develop culture in the Western Cape in accordance with policy laid down by the Minister responsible for cultural affairs.
Public hearings on abalone poaching
The Standing Committee on Economic Opportunities, Tourism and Agriculture will conduct a series of public hearings focusing on the impact of abalone poaching on small-scale fishing communities in the Western Cape.
Official Opening and SOPA
Please be advised that the official opening ceremony of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament will take place on Friday, 17 February 2017.
The Premier will deliver her State of the Province Address during the sitting at 10:30.
