      1.(a) What is the average mileage of vehicles at the (i) Kirstenhof, (ii) Fish Hoek, (iii) Ocean View and (iv) Muizenberg police stations                         and (b) when last were new vehicles provided to these police stations;

      2. whether any new vehicles are contemplated for these police stations; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

Answer Body: 

The South African Police Service informed me as follows:

               (1) (a) (i)          223 078 km

             (ii)          95 120 km

            (iii)          166 961 km

            (iv)         191 712 km

       (b) (i)           During the 2014/2015 financial year

            (ii)          During the 2018/2019 financial year

           (iii)          During the 2018/2019 financial year

            (iv)         During the 2018/2019 financial year

 (2) (i)   No, Kirstenhof SAPS has a surplus of vehicles and will therefore not receive any new vehicles at this stage.

     (ii)   No, Fish Hoek SAPS has a surplus of vehicles and will therefore not receive any new vehicles at this stage.

    (iii)   Yes, Ocean View SAPS will receive new vehicles during the current financial year.

    (iv)   Yes, Muizenberg SAPS will receive new vehicles during the current financial year.
