(a) What is the number of (i) health workers and (ii) health facilities that have been affected by COVID-19 cases as at the latest date for which information is available, (b) what is the number of health workers who have passed away due to COVID-19 as at the latest available date for which information is available and (c)(i) what is the number of health workers who have submitted leave applications since the start of the national lockdown and (ii) how many applications were declined and (iii) what where the reasons therefor?
As at 9 July, in the public sector;
(a) (i) 3 590 healthcare workers were infected with COVID-19
(ii) 116 health care facilities have reported positive cases (this excludes non-health facilities such as admin buildings)
(b) 28 healthcare workers have passed away due to COVID-19
