In light of many families in the Western Cape that have lost loved ones due to COVID-19:
Whether her Department has provided psychosocial support to families that have lost loved ones due to COVID-19; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
Psychosocial support services are rendered to families when a referral is received from another service provider, department (health) or the community specifically requesting psychosocial support following Covid 19 related death of a family member.
Psychosocial support services for Covid 19 related deaths or request for this service is rendered, as a part of the case management process, should death occur in existing cases.
