With reference to her reply to question 2 of Written Question Paper dated 13 March 2020:
Whether she can give a detailed breakdown of the areas where the 1 137 unplaced learners reside or where they applied; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
The number of unplaced learners has been reduced to 583 unplaced learners. Plans have been put in place to ensure that they are placed at schools when schools re-open. Some of these arrangements were interrupted by Covid-19. Districts have drafted placement letters which will be issued to schools and parents when schools reopen.
