With regard to the contracting of agency personnel:
- Whether she can provide a breakdown of the (a) number, (b) positions and (c) expenditure on agency personnel by her Department; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
- whether there are plans to fill these vacancies on a full-time basis rather than relying on agency personnel; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- (a) (b) The Department has a specific system for the booking and ordering of nursing personnel, which is the NIMS. This system can provide detailed information around nursing personnel, however such a system does not exist for the locums. Locums are ordered via Logis and Syspro which does not contain this level of information, and is available from individual facilities on request.
