- (a) what was his Department’s expenditure on legal services in (i) 2014, (ii) 2015, (iii) 2016, (iv) 2017, (v) 2018 and (vi) 2019 and (b) what are the details of the cases that have been paid for;
- (a) how much has his Department spent on the Tafelberg site court case to date and (b) how much is budgeted for the appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal?
(a) The adjusted Legal Services budget for the 2020/21 financial year is R50,123,000.
(b) (i) The total breakdown of expenditure as per cost of employment and goods and services
is contained in Annexure A.
(ii) The cases that involved external legal costs and total cost per annum are listed in
Annexure C.
(2) (a) what was his Department’s expenditure on legal services in:
(i) 2014/2015 financial year : R28,891,000
(ii) 2015/2016: R33,873,000
(iii) 2016/2017: R35,940,000
(iv) 2017/2018: R39,193,000
(v) 2018/2019: R44,300,000
(vi) 2019/2020: R46,495,000
