Question Number:
15
Question Body:

(1)    What is the role of the Province in the regulation of home-made pineapple beer;

(2)    whether he or any of his Cabinet members devoted any resources for regulations concerning the increased production of this beverage; if so, which departments and/or entities?

Answer Body:

No specific resources have been allocated to the brewing of pineapple beer specifically. The brewing of pineapple beer for own consumption is not illegal- although it can be dangerous.
Once fermented, pineapple beer or any other similar home brew has an alcohol content, and if it qualifies as liquor or a liquor product, it is subject to the same legislative framework as any other licensed alcohol product.
The National Disaster Management Regulations under alert level 3, also banned the sale, dispensing transportation and distribution of liquor. The power to regulate the disaster (pursuant to its classification as a national disaster) is vested exclusively in the national government, and that the WCG can hence not regulate the matter. These restrictions have been lifted under alert level 2.
