What standards or health guidelines does her Department have in place for the responsible brewing of (a) home-made and (b) commercial pineapple beer?
Answer Body:
(a) The Western Cape Department of Health has enquired from the National Department of Health’s Food Control regarding provincial health guidelines. There are no health guidelines for brewed pineapple. The Department of Agriculture can provide comment on the Liquor Products Amendment Bill.
(b) As above. Commercialization is not permitted as it would be classified as prohibited under current Disaster Management Act, 2002 Regulations.
