(b) how were the areas determined;
- The Department of Human Settlements requested Municipalities to identify areas where the HDD drive can be implemented based on the Municipality’s housing needs.
- The Municipalities who confirmed participation in the HDD drive identified the areas and booked the venues.
- The location of the venue was important as it determined how accessible the venue would be for the citizens in terms of the distance they need to travel and the capacity of the venue to accommodate a large number of citizens.
(2) whether he will visit townships dominated by black people in his province-wide drive; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
- The Provincial Department of Human Settlements is currently engaging with City of Cape Town on areas to visit within the Metro other than the areas visited as mentioned above. However given the latest developments on COVID-19 we have placed any future engagements on hold.
