Whether any cases of foetuses under 26 weeks being discarded as medical waste were reported to her Department in (a) 2017/18, (b) 2018/19 and (c) 2019/20 to date; if so, was consent granted by the respective parents?
Answer Body:
(a) No, none was reported for the financial years 2017/18 to date.
(b) & (c) At facility level non-viable foetuses below 26 weeks are managed are
either buried by the family or with formal parental consent via the Anatomical Domain in the transversal Health Care Risk Waste Contract.
