With reference to the number of cases referred to the South African Police Service (SAPS) pertaining to gender-based violence, femicide and domestic violence in the Western Cape:
- How many of the referred cases (a) required psycho-social support services and (b) received psycho-social support services in (i) 2016/17, (ii) 2017/18, (iii) 2018/19, (iv) 2019/20 and (v) 2020/21 to date;
- whether there are instances of cases not being referred to the provincial Department of Social Development; if so, what was the reason for this?
a) No information is available on number of cases referred to SAPS.
(b) The following is a breakdown of the number of victims of crime that accessed psycho-social services from Victim Empowerment Programme.
