Answer Body:

My department has informed me of the following:

          (1)     (a)

  1. The interview panel consisted of 8 panellists, and the process was also attended by the Circuit Manager and a union representative.

                        (ii) and (iii)

  1. The candidate made the shortlist for candidates to be interviewed, because his application/CV scored above the cut-off line for shortlisting based on the criteria set in the advertisement.

(2)     No. There was no involvement by “this person’s principal” in any of the processes pertaining to the filling of the post.

(3)     There are no records registered with the WCED of inappropriate conduct or behaviour in relation to female learners by the candidate while working at The Grove Primary. There are also no records of complaints escalated by parents to the school or the SGB, and thus no record of counselling for same.

(4)       No, not to our knowledge.
