The Norms and Standards for Shelters for Homeless Adults of April 2015 recommends that a Personal Development Plan must be compiled for each resident and it must be documented by the shelter manager, supervisor or social worker to ensure the personal growth and development of residents. Each resident must be provided with an exit strategy as part of the Personal Development Plan.
- (a) What is the number of personal development plans developed since January 2020 and (b) how many people have (i) successfully exited the programme and (ii) been reintegrated into the community;

(1) (a) The Department funds a total of 27 shelters to provide accommodation and psychosocial
services to homeless adults. A total of 2874 personal developmental plans were
developed since January 2020. In addition:
(i) a total of 610 beneficiaries successfully exited the program since January 2020,
(ii) while a total of 475 beneficiaries were reintegrated into communities for the same period.
QUESTION
- whether the contact details of people who have successfully exited the programme can be provided?
RESPONSE
Social workers compile a discharge form on all clients successfully exiting the shelter. The discharge form contains the contact details and address of the beneficiary being exited. Details of the client are kept confidential (as per the Protection of Personal Information Act) and as per Social Worker and client confidentiality.
