Whether her Department offered any assistance to Sassa to eradicate the backlog in temporary disability grants and care dependency grants; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
The provincial Department of Social Development held bi-weekly meetings with SASSA to provide an update on the progress made to address their challenges which included their progress in eradicating the backlog in temporary disability grants and care dependency grants.
Moreover, the Department also assisted in helping SASSA engage the City of Cape Town for additional resources, to help mitigate the challenges SASSA faced with regards to addressing the backlog in temporary disability grants and care dependency grants.
