With regard to the resignation of the Western Cape Police Ombudsman on 30 October 2020:

(1) What reasons were given for (a) his sudden resignation on 30 October 2020 and (b) him starting a new role in his Department on 2 November 2020;

(2) whether a certain person, whose details have been furnished to his Department for the purpose of his reply, is working in his Department as the coordinator or implementer of the Western Cape Safety Plan; if not, why not; if so, (a) what are the relevant details, (b) on what level is the post, (c) what is the remuneration package and (d) what recruitment process was followed to employ the incumbent;

(3)(a) when was the post for the coordinator or implementer of the Western Cape Safety Plan created, (b) what is the job description, (c) what are the main responsibilities, (d) what are the details of the contract and (e) what is the duration of the contract?

Answer Body: 

                        (1) (a)  Mr Brand resigned and advised that it was due to him pursuing other career opportunities.

                      (2) (a) Mr Brand is not working for the Department of Community Safety. He is employed by the Western Cape Economic Development Partnership (EDP). The EDP is working with the Department on the implementation of the Western Cape Safety Plan.
