(a) What were the outcomes of the last TB council meeting held on 24 June 2021, (b) what benefits does the TB dashboard offer for the residents of the province and (c) what has the (i) TB infection rate, (ii) TB-related death rate and (iii) TB recovery rate been in (aa) 2016, (bb) 2017, (cc) 2018, (dd) 2019, (ee) 2020 and (ff) 2021 to date?
(a) Actioning the Provincial Emergency Response Plan for TB through rapid communications to health workers and an urgent advocacy and communications campaign with funding for TB testing, TB prevention and multisectoral responses.
Engage and fund civil society and affected communities for the TB, HIV and Covid-19 response.
Engage and fund civil society to assist with Covid-19 vaccination registration and health screening for TB, HIV and chronic illness.
Ensure bi-directional testing for Covid-19 and TB and provide health screening (TB, HIV) at Covid-19 vaccination sites.
(b) The TB dashboard gives the public access to current TB data, improves transparency, promotes trust, increases awareness, public can track TB trends, can utilise the dashboard as a tool to work towards achieving the objectives of the TB Emergency Response plan, hold DOH accountable.
