With regard to applications for learner placements for the 2022 academic year:
(1) (a) What is the number of applications that have been received, (b) how many learners have been placed in schools, (c) how many are on the waiting list and (d) how many have been rejected; as at the latest date for which information is available;
(2) whether she can provide a detailed breakdown of applications that have been (a) accepted, (b) rejected and on (c) waiting list according to (i) age, (ii) gender, (iii) race, (iv) grade, (v) education district and (vi) suburbs?
My department has informed me of the following:
(1) (a, b c, d) The number of applications received is 126 107. The placement process for learners has not been completed and schools are still finalising their enrolment lists.
(2) No. The placement process has not been completed
