(a) What are the details of the CCTV cameras and/or other safety technology that has been installed in each of the crime hotspots in the province that are in the top 30 murder precincts nationally in (i) 2014/15, (ii) 2015/16, (iii) 2016/17, (iv) 2017/18, (v) 2018/19, (vi) 2019/20 and (vii) 2020/21, (b) how many of these are in good working condition and (c) what is the total breakdown of the expenditure per year?
My Department has not installed any CCTV cameras in any of the crime hotspots in the Province. The Disaster Management Centre only has viewing rights on few existing CCTV cameras which have been installed either by the South African Police Service, the Department of Public Works and Transport (Provincial Traffic) and the City of Cape Town.
