With regard to the maintenance of the drainage systems and road infrastructure in municipalities:
- What are the detailed (i) budget breakdown and (ii) expenditure breakdown?
- what are the details of (i) the projects and (ii) their duration for the maintenance of the drainage systems and road infrastructure in all the Western Cape municipalities in (iii) 2014, (iv) 2015, (v) 2016, (vi) 2017, (vii) 2018, (viii) 2019 and (ix) 2020?
With regards to the details pertaining to the budget expenditure and project details, my Department of Local Government obtained the amounts relating to “maintenance for Infrastructure – road transport” per municipality. This information was obtained from the Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts (MSCOA) system with the kind assistance of the Provincial Treasury which the details are attached hereto as Annexure A and Annexure B.
The annexures deal with the actual budget and actual expenditure, as requested in your question 7(a)(i) and (ii).
As far as your enquiry about the details of the projects are concerned in 7(b), the information is attached hereto as follows:
