With reference to SAPS officials deployed in this province from other provinces:
(1) (a) How many SAPS officials have been called up from other provinces to support operations in this province, (b) what is the breakdown of officials in terms of their respective provinces of origin, (c) what are the aims and objectives for the deployment of the officials to each of these operations, (d) how many officials receive subsidies for (i) accommodation, (ii) meals, (iii) laundry and (iv) other general allowances and (e) what is the rand value for (i) to (iv) above;
(2) whether any of the officials referenced in (d) above have permanent bases in the province; if so, what are the relevant details?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(1) (a) 197 (29 are located from a national competency within the Province).
(b) SAPS Western Cape is not in the position to provide this answer. This question should be directed at the Office of the National Commissioner.
