Community Safety
(a) How many investigations were launched into alleged corrupt SAPS members in the Western Cape since 2009, (b) how many of these investigations have been concluded, (c) how many SAPS members have been found guilty, (d) how many SAPS members who were implicated were dismissed, (e) how many still remain in the police service and (f) why was it not possible to dismiss them?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(a) 1 303
(b) 1 254
(c) 680
(d) 304
(e) 376
(f) They were not dismissed for a variety of reasons including members were found not guilty and in some instances lesser sanctions were imposed.
