With reference to the COVID-19 Business Relief Fund launched in the 2020/21 financial year:
(a) How many (i) small, (ii) medium and (iii) micro enterprises (SMMEs) did the fund support in Mitchells Plain in the 2020/21 financial year, (b) which businesses received funding and (c) how much funding did each business receive?
(a) None.
A total of nineteen applications were received from small or micro businesses operating in the Mitchell’s Plain area.
Eleven applications did not submit the required documents for their application to be assessed, seven applications did not progress past the pre-evaluation stage and one application qualified and was considered and approved by the Evaluation Committee. The approval was later withdrawn as the applicant was successful in their application to the Department’s Covid-19 Supplier Development Programme. This excluded the applicant from receiving support from the Covid -19 Business Relief Fund.
