With regard to the school gardens in the Western Cape, which is a part of the National School Nutrition Programme:

(a)    How many organisations in Mitchells Plain benefited from the project in the 2020/21 financial year, (b) which schools benefited from this project, (c) what is the process for schools when applying for this project and (d) what criteria do schools need to meet in order to benefit from this project?

(c)    The District Office selects the schools that have existing gardens. However, in 2020/21 schools were encouraged to establish new gardens due to the available funds at that point in time.
(d)    The school needs to have a garden and make effort to sustain the existing garden. The WCED-NSNP had 1 387 gardeners in 2020/21 financial year and Metro South Education District (MSED) schools received 180 gardeners.
