With regard to the financial irregularities at the Vrijzee Preparatory School:
(1) Whether the Metro North District conducted an audit into the financial situation at the school; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
(2) whether the contents of the report was shared with the entire School Governing Body (SGB); if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
(3) whether there has been any external audits requested by SGB members and parents, if so,
(4) whether the requested external audits were granted; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
(5) whether a case of fraud and corruption has been reported to the relevant authorities, including the SAPS, following the financial irregularities at the school; if not, why not; if so, (a) what are the relevant details, (b) who opened the case and (c) when;
(6) whether any SGB members (a) resigned and/or (b) were suspended at the school from 2017/18 to date; if so, what are the relevant details
(1) Yes. The district visited the school to investigate reported irregularities. Findings were made and the implementation of the recommendations monitored by the district.
(2) Yes. The findings were submitted to the School Governing Body Chairperson who acknowledged receipt. The report was discussed with the SGB members.
