(3)(a) The Western Cape Department of Human Settlements, acknowledges that through its properties and development, it can contribute to the integration of our society. Its rental stock should be available to all qualifying households and should cater for households based on their household income, and not race, gender, creed, language, culture, sexual orientation or any form that could be discriminatory. In this regard the Department of Human Settlements embarked on a Rental Turnaround Strategy in March 2020 to address the profile of tenants based on, inter alia, income. This is currently done through a newly instituted Allocations Committee.
