(1) Whether the community healthcare facilities in the province have waiting facilities and/or other measures to assist patients who are queuing outside for long; if not, (a) why not and (b) what are the plans to protect patients from the cold and rain during the winter; if so, what are the relevant details;

(2) what is the average waiting time to receive medical care at community healthcare facilities in the province, (b) how has COVID-19 affected the waiting times and (c) what measures have been put in place to minimise the spread of COVID-19 at our healthcare facilities where patients stand in long queues for hours in order to get medical care?

  1. (i) As at 12 July, there were 218 810 persons in the 50-59 age bracket who have registered.

(ii)

 As at 9 July, based on EVDS,

(i)114 684 vaccines administered at private sites.

(ii) 11 439 were uninsured.

(iii) 7718 were below 60 years old. The breakdown for under 50 year olds were not yet reflected on EVDS.

  1. Individuals younger than 50 who have been vaccinated were part of the Sisonke Trial for Healthcare Workers and Educators. As at 9 July:

(ii) For Healthcare workers, we are able to provide Persal group reflect, whereas the we do not have the groups for Educators.

 

 

All persons who are not linked to Persal forms part of the National vaccination programme. We are only able to provide data on these groups and essential workers when they will be added to the programme. EVDS only records data based on geographical area where someone has been vaccinated and the site – but does not specify if
