A lease agreement was signed for office space for the Western Cape Education Department Head Office on 18 February 2020;
(a) the lease was concluded for the 1 North Wharf Square Building (formerly known as ENS House).
(b) On 6 December 2018 the DTPW published a notice for the invitation of Expressions of Interest for the leasing of office accommodation and parking to the Western Cape Government, with a closing date of 12 February 2019.
(c) relevant offers were assessed and approved by Provincial Cabinet.
(d) (i) the company is Growthpoint Properties Ltd and (ii) the shareholders are Nompumelelo Bongekile Patricia Nkabinde; John Cary Hayward; Leon Norbert Sasse; Jacobus Francois Marais; Estienne Konrad De Klerk; Sebenzile Patrick Mngconkola; Gerald Volkel; Nobelungu Olive Chauke; Frank Michael Berkeley; Rhidwaan Gasant; John Adrian Van Wyk; Kuby Prudence Lebina; Andile Hesperus Sangqu & Melt Hamman,
(e) an initial period of 5 years with an option to renew for a further period of 5 years and
(f) (i) The current monthly rental is R4 046 551.33, (ii) the annual rental is R49 152 772.90 for this financial year (2021/22).
