How many (i) vehicles has the Provincial Traffic Services stopped and checked, (ii) speeding offences have been recorded by the Provincial Traffic Services, (iii) fines have been issued by the Provincial Traffic Services, (iv) impoundments has the Provincial Traffic Services conducted, (v) arrests has the Provincial Traffic Services made, (vi) crashes have been recorded by the Provincial Traffic Services, (vii) fatalities have been recorded by the Provincial Traffic Services and (viii) roadblocks has the Provincial Traffic Services implemented in (aa) 2018, (bb) 2019, (cc) 2020 and (dd) 2021 to date, as at the latest date for which information is available, and (b) what is the value of the fines issued during the same period
- Provincial Traffic Service historically used a manual process to capture all outcomes of the various traffic interventions.
This approach was significantly adjusted as from the latter part of 2018, with the introduction and use of technology.
The use of technology entailed the development of a systems approach, and applications that would automatically upload all the verified data as listed in the below table into our Integrated Transport Hub.
