1. How long do applications for individual subsidies (non-credit-linked) take to be finalised;
2. whether there are any applications that have been received in 2018 but which have not been finalised yet; if so, what are the relevant details;
3. (a) what is the status of the application of a certain person whose details have been furnished to his Department for the purpose of his reply and (b) why has the payment to the beneficiary not been made;
4. (a) what intervention measures have been implemented at his office to assist applicants who have not received payment for subsidies that had been approved in 2018 and (b) what are the reasons for the delays?
1. The duration is approximately 21-40 working days if the application is procedurally correct.
- Technical reports are requested on all verified applications to ensure that the plot is vacant before the application is approved. This process is approximately 21-30 working days.
- Once the application is approved a letter of undertaking is issued and the technical component will compile tender documents and submit it to Supply Chain Management for the appointment of a contractor. This process too is approximately 21-30 working days.
- The processing of claims is approximately 31 working days.

(3)(a) The beneficiary is Ms Maria Dorthea Geduld, of 2B Abraham Street, Prince Alfred Hamlet and the application is on a status of “Approved” pending the outcome of a Technical Report.
(b) The application was delayed due to outstanding documents that was not attached to the application. An inspection request was issued on 30 September 2020.
(4)(a) A Standard Operational Procedure for Individual Plot and Plan applications were implemented on 25 June 2018 to ensure that applications are processed and channelled accordingly.
This process is from the time an individual subsidy application is received to when the house is completed and the payment issued.
(b) The delays caused are Incomplete applications, technical reports and the appointment of contractors.
